Pennant Power

By its mere presence, a pennant bunting signals P*a*R*t*Y!

One of the first things I make to decorate for a party is a colorful pennant bunting.  I’ve made them from various materials, such as craft paper, book illustrations, book pages, and fabric.

A pennant bunting is made from flags attached to a long string or fabric seam binding.  Pennant flags are most often triangular, though they can be made in other shapes.

In addition to material selection, stenciled letters, embellishments such as lace and buttons, and colorful binding can further add character.

Choosing a color scheme and finding fabrics to match it is always fun.  Selecting interesting patterns and prints adds yet another element of interest to the design.  This is a great project for repurposed fabric.

So whether you’re preparing to host an event party or just want to add fun and pizazz to your home, consider making a colorful pennant bunting.
