Rag or Jelly Roll Combo Spool Rack

 While working on my jelly roll rugs, I soon discovered that I could work smarter.  With so many strips of fabric pooling on the floor, I knew I needed to get more organized.

This is what I came up with - a big ol' spool rack onto which I could load both my jelly roll batting and my jelly roll fabric strip.

After drawing up my plan and making a shopping list, I headed to the local big-box DIY store to buy my supplies.

I cut the pipe to my desired lengths, gathered my components, and began assembling.

    

    

            

         

    

Now I load both my batting and my strip onto the spool rack.  My workspace stays clean and organized, and my fabric stays off the floor!

     

Well, actually, I discovered that placing my spool rack on the floor in front of me was the most efficient way to place my batting on top of my fabric strip as I fed it through my machine.
